EXE OSS to use EXE Battles; new screens
Online retailer Rakuten has put up some screens of EXE Operate Shooting Star, and they confirm the answer to the big question: EXE OSS will use a version of EXE's battles. The image also shows a new mugshot for EXE Rockman.
![]() The description also mentions the addition of several mini-games to take place in the "Rockman Star Colosseum" - whatever that is. News credit: Protodude

So why are the HP readings on the viruses misaligned...?
And why are they using the 10 chip readout instead of the 15-chip...? NOOOOOOOOOO--

Well, actually, the 10-chip has an overriding (to some) advantage, and that is that you can see the chip codes directly in the chip-select window without having to look at each chip individually. But they took away ADD in EXE 4, so in that one, you can only get 5 chips normally. Not to mention that it's an 8-chip window instead of 10...

The fact that you can see directly the chip codes is good, but I still prefer 15 chips...

Nah, I hated how EXE1 approached it. It was too rough around the edges. Also, how adding was just stalling for a little bit, then you select and the adds are gone? UGGH.
I prefer EXE2/3's battle system, by far. The ADD function lasts for the rest of battle, instead of until you select something. Much more useful. Let's just hope for styles or crosses instead of souls, should they decide to change that, too. Of course, I'd still like to see the elemental armors come back. Defense vs an element is always nice, even better if it changes your color to match the armor.

I'm both upset and glad. I hated SSR3's battle system after a first-hand experience.
So it is better than Star Force 3 for me, however the BN battle system can be pretty tedious.

That would be beast. (no pun intended, considering BN6 doesn't even have ADD.) Quote:
I don't think crosses will do so either, but I think style-changes have a shot. Because the elemental armour was also kind of rough around the edges. --wait, style changes don't provide defense against elements?

No, they don't. They provide weakness to opposing, and other benefits, like boosted buster shot, elemental charged shots, more chips at chip draw, more megas allowed in a folder, or first barrier and what not.
but you take full damage from a same element. Wood Custom style takes 100% damage from wood, and 200% from Fire. Armor did nothing to buster or anything... it just cut the damage from the armor's element in half. Dunno if it provided weakness from the weak element, though, I've not played EXE1 that much.
